RPAS WILCO Fly: New Mobile App Features for Pilots in the Field
The latest RPAS WILCO Fly update brings offline maps, enhanced NOTAMs, and a redesigned preflight checklist — everything you need when you're on site.
Built for the Field
RPAS WILCO Fly has always been about giving pilots the tools they need right where they fly. But we know that "where you fly" often means areas with spotty cell coverage, harsh weather conditions, and the need to move fast. This update addresses the real-world challenges pilots face every day in the field.
Offline Maps & Airspace Data
The most requested feature is here. You can now download map tiles and airspace data for any region in Canada before heading to your job site. Offline maps include:
- Satellite and terrain imagery at multiple zoom levels for your operational area.
- Airspace boundaries — controlled airspace, restricted areas, and advisory zones rendered locally on your device.
- NOTAMs — active NOTAMs for your area cached and available without connectivity.
- Your flight plans — synced plans from the web platform available offline with full detail.
When you regain connectivity, any flight logs, photos, or notes captured offline automatically sync back to your RPAS WILCO account.
Redesigned Preflight Checklist
We've completely rebuilt the preflight checklist experience based on feedback from hundreds of commercial pilots. The new checklist is organized by phase — site assessment, aircraft inspection, airspace verification, and crew briefing — with expandable sections that keep your screen uncluttered. Custom checklist items can be added per operation type, and completed checklists are timestamped and stored as part of your flight record.
Enhanced NOTAM Display
NOTAMs are now displayed in plain language alongside the original coded text. Our NOTAM parser translates the critical information — what's affected, when, and at what altitudes — into clear, scannable summaries. You can filter NOTAMs by relevance to your specific operation and set alerts for new NOTAMs published in your area.
Quick Flight Log
A new one-tap flight logging feature lets you start and stop flight time tracking with a single button press. The app captures GPS coordinates, timestamps, and weather conditions automatically. At the end of your flight, add notes and photos, and your log is ready for review — no manual data entry required.
Update Now
RPAS WILCO Fly v3.4 is available now on the App Store and Google Play. The offline maps feature is available to all Pro and Enterprise subscribers. Starter plan users can cache a single region at a time.
